Organic Chado is a selected and so-called “ceremony grade” Matcha. This outstanding quality is also used for the traditional Japanese tea ceremony (Chanoyu). Organic Chado has a light acerbic-sweet flavour without being bitter. The colour is a rich jade green with only a few traces of yellow.
Natural Chado is organically certified and the nutritional facts (see below) show an extremely balanced proportion of a variety of health promoting ingredients. Organic Chado can be prepared somewhat thinner, as a so-called usu cha, or somewhat thicker (like an espresso) as a koi cha. For special occasions the Japanese usually offer a koi cha and for the standard ceremony a usu cha will be served.
